How do I qualify for a Pell Grant? What other scholarships are available?

You’ll automatically be considered for a Pell Grant when you submit a Free Application for Federal Student Aid, or FAFSA.

Because the Pell Grant is a federal aid program, you need to meet basic eligibility for federal student aid in order to be considered for the Pell, including:

  • Have a high school diploma, GED, or approved homeschool education.
  • Be enrolled or accepted to enroll in an eligible degree/certificate program.
  • Be registered with Selective Service, if you are male and between 18-25 years old.
  • Have a valid Social Security Number (unless you’re from the Marshall Islands, Federated States of Micronesia, or the Republic of Palau).
  • Sign statements on the FAFSA stating that (1) you’re not in default, and do not owe refund money, on a federal student loan, and (2) you’ll use federal aid money only to help pay for your education.
  • Maintain “satisfactory” progress in school.

How will I communicate with my instructors and support team?

Teacher communication is up to your instructor’s preference. They are typically available by email and phone. You’ll be provided with their contact information at the beginning of each class.

You’ll get set up with your support team: three Success Coaches with expertise in enrollment, financial aid, and advising when you enroll. They’ll be available to meet by phone, video conference, or email, typically whenever you need them.
